On Location
When I was scouting for a place to whisk my husband away for a couple of nights for a big birthday celebration, my research stopped the minute I laid eyes on the Castle On Tamborine. It ticked all the boxes; from the large romantic spa bath and indoor plunge pool, to a location which is just a 45 minute drive from home. In short, it had everything we could possibly want for a quiet, romantic escape. We arrived at Lisson Grove in the late afternoon, after taking in some of the local sights, hitting some wineries, and doing a spot of bush walking. We were shown to the Ross Wing which had been immaculately prepared for our one-night stay. Soft lights were on, music was playing gently in the background, the plunge pool was gently steaming, and a real fire was waiting to be lit. From the moment we closed the heavy wooden front door, we felt like we were isolated in another world - one truly fit for a king and queen. The gourmet kitchen was more than equipped to facilitate our tapas style supper, the cork in the Champagne waiting for us on arrival was popped, having a plunge pool located right off the living room was fun, and the huge double spa bath was relaxing after a lot of walking earlier in the day. We also snuggled down on the lavish sofas in front of the fire to tuck into some chocolates, and enjoy a couple of movies picked up from reception; we had seen both before, but not projected onto the wall with incredible surround sound. And to finish off the evening, falling into a super comfy Versace style bed was a joy, with nothing to do but rest until our piping hot cooked breakfast was scheduled for delivery at 9am. Fit for royalty? You bet!
