I’d be the first to admit I am not a lippy addict of any kind, even though my cosmetic drawer has plenty of pretty glosses, expensive lipsticks and balms of all kinds. I usually put them on when first going out and that’s it; I forget to reapply. That said, I tend to make the effort a bit more when I am traveling or on holiday, especially when I find a product which enhances a more natural look, and which I enjoy using frequently. Bobbi Brown’s Extra Lip Tint ticks all the boxes here. Essentially it’s a lip balm which goes on like a sheer wash of colour, brightening up the hue of your lips so it looks like you’re wearing lipstick. It comes in simple, no fuss case - white with a black strap around the middle - and the shade I tested was Bare Melon. The tint was the perfect colour, and it was rich and nourishing thanks to a blend of olive, avocado and jojoba oils in the formula, which makes your lips look instantly moisturised, smooth and plumped up. It’s ideal for a no make up make up look, and as I found it’s long wearing and reduces the need for wearing a lip balm to prevent dryness. While this lip tint has been around for a while, three new shades launched in January 2019 taking the lineup to six, including Bare Nude, Bare Raspberry and Bare Blackberry, and making it easier than ever to find a shade which works for your lips. And don’t be put off by the price tag. Admittedly it doesn’t come cheap, but Extra Lip Tint is a two-in-one marvel which conditions and colours your lips, with the bonus of plumping them and being long wearing. And it can be slipped into your handbag or carry on with the greatest of ease.
