Catherine Manuell Designs

Catherine Manuell Design is a lovely range of luggage which I discovered a few years ago. Hailing from Melbourne, it features a stylish range of colourful luggage, handbags, scarves and other essential travel accessories. The brand was established by designer Catherine Manuell more than 15 years ago, and is a true all-Australian range offering over 100 different designs each season. Manuell learned her craft as a freelance designer, working for significant fashion labels including Metalicus, Stussy Sista an Kookai, before launching her own brand - and it shows. Also, for anyone who buys her products, a unique point of difference, especially where the luggage is concerned, is being able to spot it on the carousel at the airport. Black and silver might be classic colours, but this is where Catherine decided to go bold, and design something completely different.

Manuell’s range of products has expanded from luggage to a variety of other travel essentials including handbags, scarves, hats and more, all of which embrace her love of colour and bold design. Take the new Grey Jasmine range, a lustrous, glossy yet hard wearing style ideal for brightening up your autumn or winter wardrobe this year. A soft grey background in the design complements the brightly coloured jasmine flowers; it comes in a variety of products ideal for women on the go including a large Marseilles Tote, which has longer handles, closes magnetically at the centre top, and has a generous inside zip and phone pocket to help secure your wallet, phone and more along with a bold lining. There’s also a Mid-Sized Wallet, a Business Card Holder, and even a choice of two cases for your glasses. And made for travel is the Airport Trolley Set, a signature piece, which comprises a hard shell set of two pieces that can be used together or separately. Truly elegant, stylish and ultimately very pretty tough, the smaller top case is sized 30 x 38 x 18cm, fitting neatly onto the larger base which is 46 x 36 x 20cm.
