Late nights, working hard, partying hard; they’re all reasons why your eye area can look tired, or an unwanted blemish can suddenly appear. Travel is another culprit, especially if you take long haul flights, long layovers, a sudden change in weather, and travelling through several time zones in one trip. Thanks to concealers, we’re able to hide everything from zits and dark circles, as well as highlight your cheekbones and eyes. However these marvels of beauty no longer come in just the shades of skin tone; there are a variety of different colours including green, purple and yellow, which tackle different issues. For example, the colour green neutralises the colour red so it’s great for hiding blemishes or new scars, while yellow is ideal for bruises, veins and those pesky under eye circles - that’s my main problem. How they work is simple too; all you do is first tackle the problem area with the coloured concealer, using sparingly, then apply a layer of skin tone concealer on top. Voila! That nasty zit or eye dark circles disappear!
For women on the road there are a number of options when it comes to colour corrector products tackling these skin care issues. The cult beauty brand Musq has two products in its range to tackle skin problems, including a yellow corrector and a green corrector (both $39, available from www.musq.com.au). Both have a lovely soft, creamy formula which can be applied using fingertips or a concealer brush; the yellow counteracts dark circles beautifully, while the green zaps zits in one application, and you can use your favourite concealer on top. They come in a small, neat pot which is easy to pack into your cosmetic bag, and as a little goes a long way, they will last a long time. The other option for even more convenience is Physicians Formula Concealer Twins. This two in one colour corrector comes in either in green or yellow combined with a light skin tone concealer ($19.95 various outlets including Priceline) and each concealer has its own wand to allow for easy application. Whichever product you choose, there’s no need to be plagued by an uneven skin tone. Colour correctors are an ideal solution for everyday use, and to cover up problems when you are on the road.
