I first got into facials when I was living in London, 20-odd years ago. There were a number of reasons; enjoying a spot of pampering is one, but also with maturing skin, there were treatments you could give your skin which would make a positive different to how it looked. Fast forward to today, and pampering aside, the reasons why should add regular facials to your beauty regime are long.
Although I religiously do my own home facials, usually on a weekend morning, every few months I put my skin in the hands of professionals for something more intense and significant. Recently I tried an Eminence Organics facial, which turned out not only to be an indulgent and most enjoyable experience, but also left my skin looking radiant.
The venue for the facial was the gorgeous Spa at the Four Seasons in Sydney. With six rooms and a contemporary decor featuring warm red wood and slate blue grey, it's an elegant space right in the heart of the Sydney CBD on George Street.
Although there are a number of Eminence Organics facials available, the one I enjoyed was focussed on products the its Age Corrective Collection. Hailing from Hungary, the entire range is 100 per cent organic and hand made, containing ingredients which are chosen for their beautifying and therapeutic properties. And another bonus - they have fabulous aromas, and feel wonderful on the skin.
The facial followed the path of most beginning with extensive cleansing to remove makeup, dirt and prep the skin fully. Next came an AHA Fruit Pulp and Paprika Herbal Treatment. This is actually a peel, with an active fruit formula combined with a detoxifier and oxygen booster, designed to rejuvenate the epidermis. The paprika also makes it quite hot, and stimulating! Finally there was a masque packed with Swiss green apples to tighten skin and improve cell degeneration. In between there were episodes of massage including the scalp, neck and shoulders, and arms and hands using the glorious smelling Coconut Firming Body Lotion.
The facial concluded with the application of products from the Age Corrective Collection; the oh-so gentle Eye Serum, the divine Bamboo Firming Fluid, and a moisturiser. My skin was a tad pink from the paprika in the peel, but I was assured this would calm down within half an hour or so - which it did.
Later that night, my skin felt and looked amazing, but the next evening I went to dinner with a girlfriend I hadn't seen in ages, and one of the first things she did was complement my skin. Over a week later, and I had brunch with a group of businesswomen who are largely in beauty public relations, and they all had same reaction. My skin looked great.
There are a number of Eminence Organic facials available from a 30-minute Express treatment, right up to an indulgent 90-minute Experience, and compared to other treatments in the market they're very affordable. If you want to give your skin a real boost, you won't go wrong with Eminence.

Please note: Eminence facials are not available at the Spa at the Four Season yet; it was used for a media launch.
They are, however, available at a number of esteemed locations nationwide including Elysian Hair and Body Spa in Daisy Hill, QLD, Samskara Massage & Spa at Sydney's Domestic Airport, and a number of resort spas.
