Road Test
Admittedly you can’t slip it into a pocket, or even your luggage (it weighs over 2 kilos), but if you’re planning any significant travels in Australia anytime soon you should definitely get your hands on a copy of Explore Australia 2019, and have a flick through. The reason? In this beautifully produced book you will find key information for every capital city and touring region in the country, including suggested day trip itineraries, as well as details on over 700 regional towns, including information on local and nearby attractions, markets and festivals and more. It pretty much showcases the best of Australia; our best best beaches, gourmet food and wine destinations, nature escapes, wildlife experiences, leisure and adventure holidays, Indigenous cultural experience and kid-friendly destinations. To put the book to the test, I checked out what it said about my current home town, Surfers Paradise in Queensland, and my former home town, Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Both entries were pretty much spot on in terms of useful information, the best of what to see and do, and what’s nearby. If you’re looking for a book which would make a wonderful gift (Father’s Day is coming up, and Christmas not long behind it), something to inspire your travels or brighten up the decor in your living room, Explore Australia 2019 is one worth considering.
