It’s the birth of a new classic, a reimagined fragrance which evokes a true sense of freedom and fearlessness for today’s woman - while also smelling divine. Here’s why we love Gucci Guilty EDP Pour Femme.

  • What Is It: An updated version of a popular fragrance for her.
  • Why buy: It’s rich, sexy and it makes a statement.
  • The Details: Gucci Guilty EDP Pour Femme costs $140 for 50ml, and $185 for 100ml, available from David Jones and MYER nationally.

Road Test

When the original Gucci Guilty was revealed back in 2010, it was said to be inspired by Barbra Streisand and her famous song of the same name. It was also Gucci's first perfume bottle to feature the interlocking G’s; simple and chic, it embraced sublime art deco styling purposely aiming to add a touch of class to any woman’s dresser. Fast forward to January 2019, and a new chapter of his hugely popular fragrance has opened with the launch of a new edition Gucci Guilty Pour Femme Eau De Parfum, along with a slick advertising campaign set in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. The campaign features the multi-platinum singer-songwriter, Lana Del Rey, along with the Academy award-winning actor and musician, Jared Leto, the pair playing two individuals who live their life and love outside of social conformism, and embrace a sense of being truly uninhibited. This reimagined Eau De Parfum is an intense Oriental Floral with commanding ingredients including Mandora, Pink Pepper, Lilac and Patchouli. A top note experience is undoubtedly the citrus Mandora, a cross between a mandarin and an orange grown on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, which is smoothed out with natural Bergamot and Pink Pepper. The heart of the fragrance, however, reveals the perfume’s new and updated complexity; Lilac contrasted with rosy and violet notes, and layered with Geranium Oil. Defining the scent is a deep natural duet of Patchouli Oils combined with Ambery notes, all of which fuse together to enable the perfume’s fragrance to lingers in the air. The Gucci Guilty Pour Femme bottle has also had somewhat of a makeover, redesigned to be sensual, and partly wrapped in gold coloured metal which reflects the pale rose tinted fragrance inside. And yes, it features the House’s famous interlocking G.

Beauty In Travel Loves

  • The bottle, which is simply stunning.
  • It’s sexy, musky and ultimately flora, with the aroma of flowers blooming on a spring day.
  • The fragrance is wonderfully long lasting - all you need is one small spray to last many hours.

Insider Tips

  • Remember this is an Eau De Parfum, not an Eau De Toilette, so the fragrance is more intense.
  • Also don’t rub, just spray, as this can change the course of the scent, avoid spraying on totally dry skin (use a non-scented moisturiser on your skin), and target areas exposed to the air such as the pulse points of the neck and the wrists or inner elbows, if you go sleeveless.

    My Favourite Perfume

Posted by Aimee Tang on 26th Feb 2019

I saw this review and was instantly transported back to when the first Gucci Guilty came out - it's been my favourite ever fragrance and I can't believe I didn't know there was a new version! I have so MANY happy memories of wearing this sublime scent, especially where romance and travel is concerned. I've dined in great European cities wearing it, I've had cocktails by the pool wearing it, and whenever I go out with hubby on date night, I wear it. I am thrilled to bits that there's an updated version, although I hope they haven't changed it too much as the original was unbeatable. I will prod hubby to get me some for my birthday which is coming up soon......thanks for the wonderful review Ultimate!
