Hedgren is one of those travel accessories and luggage brands renowned for producing highly functional, design-driven casual bags, and new to its lineup of products is the new Escapade range. Coming in three on-trend colours, which include a cool grey Phantom, the striking red Chili Pepper and an eye-catching Dark Denim, this range has it all from back packs and overnight cases, to full-sized large spinner suitcases. Recently I got to check out the new Escapade Tour 66cm expandable spinner trolley which is practical and functional with elements of understated style. This trolley has everything a discerning frequent traveller is looking for in a case; it is lightweight, expandable and it looks good, and it comes with a security padlock to keep your possessions safe. The dimensions of the case are 68.5 cm high x 24 cm deep x 44.5 cm width; empty it weighs just 3.12 kg, and it has a volume of just over 73 litres. That’s plenty of room for your clothes, shoes and personal possessions, without the worry of your case being overweight. The primary material used in this case is a durable polyester which is water repellant, and makes it easy to wipe clean. Pockets include a large one on the exterior of lid, a smaller hidden one also on the exterior of the lid, and one inside the lid, and besides a padlock, the case also comes with an ID tag and elastic tie-down straps to keep your possessions snugly in place once packed. As a bonus, there’s a two-year warranty. The fabric feels nice to the touch and there’s minimal tan coloured detailing including the elastic straps.

The Verdict:

There are a lot of trolleys to choose from today, but Hedgren has a loyal following and for good reason. This new Escapade Tour may be understated but it’s super easy to use and incredibly practical as well as being lightweight, and you get to choose a modern colour to suit your style.
