The Product: Hedgren Formula One Suitcase.
Best For: Stylish travllers who also want a case which is light and easy to manoeuvre.
Three Things We Loved: The styling, the colour, the lightness.
Road Test:
Hedgren has always been a stylish innovator when it comes to suitcases, bags and travel luggage, and its new range, the Formula One hard shell trolley, is no exception. It's a suitcase which looks great, is available in a range of colours from silver to black, and comes in a carry on size and larger suitcasecase. The model I had to review was a medium, 24" silver suitcase, which is ideal as airline luggage for long haul travel, and looks stylish with its sleek lines and minimalistic designer racing stripes.
The suitcase is made from water repellent polycarbonate, and has padded side and top handles for lifting, along with a fully retractable telescopic handle for pulling. Like an F1 car, however, it is also highly manoeuvrable and agile thanks to four durable spinner wheels; they allow it to turn 360 degrees either way at the push of a finger, wheeled upright, or wheeled while tilted.
It is undoubtedly light lightweight, but quickly you get a sense of toughness beneath its stylish exterior. The exterior zipper closes the suitcase and its fobs click into a built in combination lock which is TSA approved - no additional locks are needed. Once inside the case you'll enjoy a water repellent polyester lining which is in a cool grey colour. One half has an adjustable strap with a central clip to keep things in place, there is a zipped pocket for smaller items, and the other half has a zipped mesh cover.
The Verdict:
This stylish suitcase is the savvy and stylish traveller's must have, and will be one of the most admired airline bags on the carousel this year. In fact we love it so much we're giving away a medium suitcase and a gorgeous travel photography book to one lucky winner.
