The Product: Henty Wingman Backpack
Best For: Anyone who rides and needs to wear a suit!
Three Things We Loved: Its durability, styling, convenience.
Road Test:
If you are an avid bike rider for work or travel, and you need to wear a suit, you'll need to read this review. Henty's Wingman Backpack is a new type of bag which has been carefully created with high hopes of being all things to all people - and it does just that. Primarily it is aimed at anyone who needs a solid garment or suit bag, including both male and female travellers, but also with super clever touches. They include compartments which allow you to also carry an iPad, a tablet and other day-to-day essentials conveniently, the entire thing rolling up into a tube like a traditional duffle bag, while also converting into an easy to carry backpack.
But lets start at the beginning with some of those all important specs. The Wingman weighs just 1.7kgs, and unrolled it's dimensions are 56 x 101 cms, while rolled it's 56 x 22 x 25 cms. It has a capacity for 1 suit of a jacket and pants or a skirt, plus one shirt or blouse, or three shirts or blouses, but what separates this bag from traditional fold-in-half versions is that the Wingman has semi-rigid vertical ribs made from 100 per cent recycled plastic; they restrict the diameter of the bag when rolled, and minimise creasing to your clothes tucked away inside as a result. The bag also has a large external pocket for keys, documents and other items, including a removable pouch for a phone or small tablet and travel or credit cards cards, and there's a fixed 13-15 inch laptop pouch tucked neatly behind the backpack straps. Speaking of the backpack straps, they are padded and adjustable, and as a bonus the entire kit comes with a heavy duty gym/utility bag with a shoulder strap.
The Verdict:
All in all this is a terrific multitasking suit bag which is super durable and looks great in simple black exterior and grey inside material, and it really has space a-plenty with the extra external pockets. Even when filled with a full outfit including shoes, a laptop, wallet, makeup bag and keys etc, it doesn't feel too heavy or became awkward to carry, even for a small female. Although it's ideal for anyone who uses a bike in particular, you don't need to be on wheels to get the most out of it, as it will suit anyone on the road, whether you're travelling by train or flying. Practical, convenient, and it looks great.
