The Product: Wingman Messenger.
Best For: Anyone who rides a bike and wears a suit, or likes the convenience of rollup suit bag which doubles up as a gym bag.
Three Things We Loved: The styling, the durability, and the convenience.
Road Test:
We've reviewed Henty products before because they are just so cool and practical, particularly for bike riders who need to wear smart clothing, but new its lineup is the Wingman Messenger. It's a different version of the backpack which comes in two sizes, standard and compact, and also doubles up as a gym/utility bag with a solid strap for transportation. Primarily this bag is aimed at men and women who need a bag which can be used to carry a suit or other smart clothes, and who enjoy some clever design touches as well as cool styling. They include compartments which allow you to also carry an iPad, tablet or 13 inch laptop, and other day-to-day essentials, with the entire suit bag rolling up into a tube and converting into an easy-to-carry gym bag. But first the specs.
The Wingman Messenger standard size weighs just 1.7 kgs, and is 56 x 101 cms open and 56 x 22 x 25 cms rolled, and it has a capacity of 14 litres. Meanwhile the compact size weighs 1.6 kgs, and is 48 x 101 cms open and 48 x 22 x 25 cms rolled, with a capacity of 12 litres. Both versions can handle 1 suit including a jacket and pants or a skirt, plus one shirt or blouse, or on their own three shirts or blouses. Like the Wingman Backpack, what separates this bag from traditional fold-in-half versions is that it made with semi-rigid vertical ribs made from 100 per cent recycled plastic, which restrict the diameter of the bag when rolled, and minimise creasing to your clothes.
The bag also has the bonus of large external pocket for keys, documents and other items, including a removable pouch for electrical gadets and credit cards cards, quick release buckles, an adjustable and a padded strap. And there's also a range of biker's essentials including reflective piping for flare attention at night and a high visibility waterproof rain jacket with taped seams.
The Verdict:
Like the Wingman Backpack, this is another terrific multitasking suit bag which is super durable and looks great coming in three colours including grey, blue and green. Even when filled with a full outfit it doesn't feel heavy or awkward to carry, even for a small female like me. And although it's ideal for anyone who uses a bike in particular, you don't need to be on two wheels to get the most out of it; this practical bag is ideal anyone on the road, whether you're travelling by train or flying.
We're giving away two Henty Wingman Messengers in a new holiday competition worth $438!
