Kaiser Baas CONTACT

We're huge music fans here at UltimateTravelMagazine, with our iPod on the go in our office day and night. We never travel without music of one form or another either, whether we take an iPod with a portable speaker, or our MacBook with iTunes loaded; even our car has its very own iPod!

Sometimes if you have to travel especially light, it can be an issue for music fans like us. But now you can travel with your iPhone, or other smartphone, and have music whenver you choose thanks to this nifty new gadget, the Kaiser Baas CONTACT.

I was told this speaker is tipped to be the hottest gadget for 2013, and having tested it, they're not exaggerating. CONTACT is a new generation of amplified speakers for use with portable media devices such as an iPhone, which doesn't require drivers, cables or any type of configuration. All you need to do is to simply place your device on top of the CONTACT speaker, set it to play music, adjust the sound through your device, and voila! 

CONTACT uses patent pending technology by Near Field Audio™, (called NearFA™), which allows mobile devices to transmit sound to an amplifying speaker within a short distance. Most existing mobile devices such as iPhone, iPod, iPad and Android devices are supported by this new technology.

CONTACT is small, with an on/off power button (with a blue light which illuminates when on), and it has a mini speaker on each side. It's powered wirelessly using three AA batteries, or using a micro USB cable you can plug it into a computer or USB power supply if need be. The kit also comes with a soft pouch, and two fluro bands (hot pink and lime green) to slip over the key parts for protection, and to look cool. There are also two clear rubber bands which you can use to secure your mobile device to the speaker.

The sound quality of CONTACT is pretty good for such a small device, and it's perfect for travel as it can be used anywhere including a hotel room, or outside. More than just a practical speaker, it's a groovy gadget everyone who loves music and travels will want to have.
