Road Test
BB creams, short for “blemish balm” cream, are one of the best inventions in recent skin care history. They’re a versatile combination of products all wrapped up into one, and can include a moisturiser, primer, SPF, foundation, skin treatment, and concealer. If you’re not a fan of foundations, they can be godsend, and if you are travelling, they can be useful for both day wear and night wear. This new BB cream from L’Oreal, Bonjour Nudista Awakening Skin Tint, had come highly recommended to me by a beauty colleague who knows stuff, so I got to test it. It comes in four shades - I tested Medium as it was late summer - and I have to say I was impressed from the get-go. To use it, simply apply the tint in dots to your nose, cheeks, chin and forehead, then blend using your fingertips in circular motions until it is fully absorbed, not forgetting to blend down to the neck for a natural-looking finish. Bonjour Nudista Awakening Skin Tint is meant to hydrate for up to 24 hours, as well as protect the skin from pollution, and it’s enriched with natural ingredients including apricot, coconut and shea. After testing several times - day and night - I found that the BB cream didn’t clump or wipe off my face, and it evened out my skin tone nicely like, delivering a natural luminous finish. This is an ideal product to take on your travels, from its petite size to the end result it delivers. And it can be layered for more coverage.
