Where Is It: Ettalong Beach, Central Coast, NSW.

Why Go: It’s a relaxed and comfortable property with great ocean views.

Three Things We Loved: The fantastic view of Brisbane Water and Broken Bay, a good range of different types of accommodation and some of the most beautiful beaches right outside.

The Ultimate Factor: The higher up in the building you go, the better the view and you can sit out on deck for hours overlooking the pool and spa and just look at one of the prettiest spots in NSW.

Overview:

Most hotels and resorts are generally easy to peg. They’re usually aimed at couples on a romantic getaway, families looking for a fun time, or business travellers who need a bit of comfort and working amenities. Mantra Ettalong Beach is a little unusual in that it’s a bit of each and it somehow works just fine. It’s 90 minutes drive north of Sydney which makes it an easy getaway from the “big smoke” but Mantra Ettalong is also popular with locals on the Central Coast, especially on weekends.

The Accommodation:

There’s 236 accommodations featuring studio, one bedroom suites and two bedroom suites and some of these have spa baths. There’s also a luxurious three bedroom Penthouse Suite. Not all of the accommodations have ocean views. Each of them is fully furnished with modern contemporary decor and have air conditioning along with high speed internet access, spa baths, balconies, cable TV and in-house movies, laundry facilities, hairdryer, CD player and stereo, iron and ironing board and a safe.

The Studio Suites have a kitchenette and spa bath and you can upgrade to a Deluxe Studio Spa Suite with ocean views or pool views or Studio Pool Access Suite with a private balcony leading onto the pool deck. The One Bedroom Suites have private balconies with Hinterland views (which can be upgraded to ocean view or direct pool access), kitchenettes, a spa bath and a King size bed.

The Two Bedroom Suites are naturally bigger and also have kitchenettes with Hinterland views, ocean views or direct pool access. They have a separate lounge and dining area and an ensuite which opens into the spa bath. These have one Queen bed and one King bed with the option of a double Sofa bed.

The Three Bedroom Penthouse is pure decadence with three spa baths, huge living area and an outdoor Jacuzzi, full kitchen, a ten seat dining table and plush furnishings throughout.

Dining:

The Mantra Ettalong technically doesn’t have its own restaurants and bars, but adjoining the building is the Ettalong RSL Club which has the Rocky Point Cafe which does breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week while the bar is called Riley’s which has live entertainment on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Where We Stayed:

The One Bedroom Apartment on the seventh floor and top floor had a superb ocean view across the river and Broken Bay and featured a spa bath and shower which adjoined the master bedroom which could be opened up to take in the fabulous panorama outside. The balcony was large with a four seater table outside and the living room was bright and spacious with unique artwork scattered throughout. Just off the side was a kitchenette with a microwave.

What Else Is There:

Mantra Ettalong’s Day Spa is on Level One and features a multitude of massage therapies, skin facials and spa body treatments.

The Verdict:

Whether you’re a couple looking for a romantic getaway in NSW or a family looking to make the most of the great outdoors, Mantra Ettalong is a stylish and comfortable resort with all the best of the Central Coast right outside.
