Road Test

It isn’t a secret that macadamia nuts are good for your health. Although they are high in fat, between 78 and 86 percent of that fat is monounsaturated (the good for you, heart-healthy kind of fat), which can help to lower cholesterol and decrease your risk of heart disease and stroke. The oil is also a favourite among chefs around the world, both its health benefits, and its taste. But macadamia oil is also a godsend for the skin; packed with fatty acids, it’s a superior moisturiser which also hydrates and nourishes the skin. G&M Cosmetics is behind the Native Australian Skincare range, offering a range of products which are gentle, organic and suitable for both adults and children. The company also has a focus on using unique aboriginal ingredients, including effective oils such as macadamia. Its Certified Organic Macadamia Oil comes in an easy-to-use pump dispenser ideal for travellers - no leaks from droppers - and it’s a lightweight, stable oil which quickly absorbs into the skin. The oil’s fatty acid composition, which is similar to sebum, helps to moisturise and hydrate, while also restoring the skin’s protective barrier. But this oil does even more, by helping to improve some of the key signs of ageing, which include the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I was sent a bottle of the oil to road test, using it at night after sun exposure from exercising outdoors and spending time around the pool. I found that it not only melted into the skin quickly, but also very soothing, and left my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I also used it on my cuticles, and a little to smooth out my hair after washing, and discovered it’s a wonderful all-rounder with many practical uses - especially if you are on the road.

    Great Oil

I have been using a macadamia oil on my very dry hair for a couple of years and prefer it to argan oil, which I used to use. It also smells lovely.

    Wining Product

This has to be a winner, as it's natural, affordable and does a number of jobs! I cook with macadamia oil all the time (in preference to peanut oil) but have never thought to use it on my skin. Also it sounds great for hair, mine is quite dry and brittle at times so it might make for a nice treatment once in a while! Great idea Ultimate Travel!
