Road Test
The demand for natural skin care is has been increasing in recent years, as a growing number of women turn away from chemicals and desire anti-ageing products which are kinder to their skin. The problem in days gone by, however, was that while many natural products got the thumbs up for a reduced chemical content, and a healthier environmental footprint, they weren't very effective beyond the basics such as cleansing and moisturising. Fast-forward to 2019, however, and there are more brands on offer for conscientious skin care lovers to choose from, with ONNE being one. It came to my attention a few months ago, and I was impressed by the company’s mission statement, “to create conscientiously formulated natural skincare which enables the skin to respond seamlessly to environmental, hormonal and ageing factors”. Furthermore, whether your skin is hypersensitive, oily, dry, combination, normal or just in-need-of-some-love, ONNE’s tailor-made formulas nourish the skin while also promoting healing. Australian made and owned, its ingredients are natural, gluten-free and vegan with a focus on simplicity. While they “go back to basics”, however, they also pack a potent punch, having been scientifically formulated for peak performance in anti-ageing and skin renewal. Some of its nutrient-rich, nature-powered, all-natural ingredients include aloe vera, Australian natives and chamomile, and they are certified organic. ONNE has a full range of products for face and body, including sets, mini and travel sizes, and skin care accessories including a facial sponge.
The product I got to road test is one of the heroes of the range called Complexion Cream. An anti-ageing moisturiser with ingredients specially formulated to reduce the signs of ageing, this delicious moisturiser also prevents oiliness as well as soothing dry areas, which can be a common issue with ageing skins. The formula is rich in vitamin C thanks to Kakadu Plum, making it ideal for preventing and easing the appearance of wrinkles and uneven skin tone, while Davidson plum, acts like an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) to smooth skin and help to promote collagen production. When it comes to essential oils, the formula also contains patchouli oil, which can help to ease skin troubled with dermatitis, eczema, acne, and is ideal for both dry or oily skin making it the perfect face cream for all skin types, and if you travel, across different types of climates. And there’s also rosemary, which protects against sun damage and free radicals. With all of these potent properties, and many others from the all natural ingredients, this moisturiser will maintain the skin’s health throughout the day, and leave your skin glowing, even when you are on the road Complexion Cream has a lovely, complex aroma with a base of coconut extract, and it glides onto the skin easily, feeling rich and absorbing easily without feeling greasy. The cream makes for a perfect base beneath makeup, or when applied at night it will hydrate and nourish your skin until the next morning. One moisturiser for day and night is also a bonus for travellers.
