Launching just a few months ago from Paula’s Choice is RESIST Omega + Complex Serum (rrp $50,www.paulaschoice.com.au), an anti-ageing product which aims to promote a ‘healthy skin diet’ as well as provide a strong barrier for your skin by way of a robust blend of omega fatty acids. The formula is rich in these key acids drawn from flax, chia, passion flower and linoleic acid, all of which are essential fats and a naturally occurring source of skin replenishing ingredients, as well as an important part of your skin’s daily diet. They’re also good for your skin, and your body, if you eat them in natural form. However, the benefits of applying omega fatty acids to the skin in topical form have been growing in scientific weight in recent years, and this light, lotion-style serum has been specially formulated to replenish, repair and defend the skin’s all-important barrier using plant-derived omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, in combination with skin-identical ceramides, and soothing, natural antioxidants. What it promises with ongoing use is greater skin strength, less environmental damage, along with reduced dryness and dehydration. It’s also a serum which is perfect for year-round use. But does it work? After using the RESIST Omega + Complex Serum for nearly three weeks my skin is calm, comfortable, and well moistured, but I’ve also noticed other noticeable improvements in my skin, including less redness, softer fine lines, and overall my skin looks a lot healthier. As mentioned, while it’s sold as a serum it has more of a light lotion texture without being too creamy or greasy. The product sinks into your skin easily but doesn't disappear entirely, and it layers very well with other essentials such as moisturiser and sunscreen. If you are looking for an anti-ageing serum which also delivers much needed moisture for dry or mature skin, RESIST Omega + Complex Serum is well worthy of its $50 price tag.
