I tend to use a variety of different beauty products on a seasonal, and sometimes a week by week basis, depending on what I feel my skin needs. Of course there are always the essentials - including a vitamin A treatment cream 3 nights per week, and vitamin C in one form or another daily in the morning - but one day in addition I may only use my essential oil blend, another night I might use the oils plus a moisturiser, or in very humid weather I may only use a hydrating serum and no oil. This can make travelling tricky, with the need to minimise the products I carry, but one thing I always take with me is a hydrating moisturiser. The Jojoba Company’s new Hydrating Day Cream is an ideal solution, as it’s suitable for all skin types and is lightweight enough for day use, while also being hydrating and rich to use at night if you don’t want to take a separate, additional cream. Key ingredients in the formula beside the company’s staple of jojoba, are olive leaf extracts, Siberian ginseng and beta gluten, which unite to create a long acting moisturiser that protects and nourishes skin.
Using it is easy; after cleansing just pump a small amount onto the fingertips and gently press into the skin of the face, neck and décolletage. It’s quite a rich cream, so a neat application trick is to squeeze a small amount into the palm of one hand, and rub your palms together thus warming the moisturiser before spreading across the skin. I also applied most of it to neck and décolletage, moving on to the cheeks and finally the T-zone and chin. The moisturiser felt moist on my skin for a while, which isn’t a problem at night, but you might need to allow it to sit for a short while in the morning, or before you put on any makeup. The key thing is that my skin remained well-hydrated and supple throughout the night or day, and over time my skin definitely felt softer and smoother. The moisturiser comes is a lovely, simple and sleek bottle, and it has a soothing herbal scent. If you’re looking for a single moisturiser which works for day and night, this is one well worth considering.
