Road Test
Resibo is a new brand of Polish skin care which has recently arrived in Australia, based on natural, carefully selected ingredients, and vegan friendly. It has also been hailed as nature’s alternative to Botox, its Smoothing Face Serum promising to bring back skin youthfulness by tackling the physical signs of ageing; firming, tightening and brightening the skin, and targeting blemishes and dehydration. They also claim that the first effects are noticeable just 24 hours of first use! The key reason why serums have become so popular is that they’re usually formulated using smaller molecules which can penetrate the skin more deeply and deliver higher concentrations of active ingredients into the skin. As a result they are highly effective, with different serums tackling different issues, from helping to clearing blemishes, to firming, to fading pigmentation, and overall promoting a more youthful complexion. Resibo Smoothing Face Serum contains a powerful lineup of natural ingredients including stoeciol, marula oil, vegetable squalane and crystal tears, an oil derived from the Pistacia Lentiscus tree from the Greek island of Chios. Together, they work in harmony to banish blemishes and improve dehydration. Meanwhile potent antioxidants and youth proteins in the serum help to plump, fill and smooth out uneven skin texture; it’s also healing, by reducing discolouration and inhibiting sebum oxidation. This golden serum comes in a small glass bottle with a dropper, and it is packaged inside a cute, recyclable cardboard tube. As ever the proof of the pudding is in the eating, as the saying goes. I used the serum morning and night for about four weeks at the beginning of a SE Queensland winter, and found that my skin was definitely better hydrated and looked plumper after the first couple of applications, results which continued to build over time. The serum isn’t thick, but it is a little oily and I found it took a while to absorb into the skin, especially in the morning.
