Three Things We Loved: The gorgeous Curv styling, it's lightweight, the built-in TSA locks.
Road Test:
Samsonite has been one of my favourite luggage brands for years, for reasons which include lovely styling and durability of its products. In fact, in years gone by I recall one luggage set giving us more than a decade of heavy duty, frequent travelling service - it literally went around the world several times including on flights and cruise ships. Samsonite's new Lite-Locked range is another favourite to add to my list for a variety of great reasons. I was sent a 69cm in off white to review, which is ideal for long haul travel, and from the moment I pulled it from the container I fell in love with its good looks.
The suitcase is made from 100 per cent Curv material by Propex in Germany, which makes it not only incredibly lightweight - it weighs just 3.3kg empty - but also shock resistant, making it the strongest and lightest luggage ever made by Samsonite. The dimensions of the 69cm size in full are 69 x 45 x 29 xm, and the case has a volume of 68L, and other impressive features include terrific manoeuvrability, thanks to four durable spinner wheels which allow the case to turn 360 degrees either way at the push of a finger, wheeled upright, or wheeled while tilted. The case also has a bottom grip for when you need to lift your suitcase, a divider pad inside along with functional elastic cross ribbons to keep your possessions in place, and there's the bonus of a fixed 3 point TSA combination lock; no external locks needed, and no need to worry about the TSA needed to access your case's contents. This gorgeous suitcase is is available in other colours including black and it comes with a generous 10 year global warranty - another reason I rate Samsonite highly.
Along with the Lite-Locked range, Samsonite has also launched the new S'Cure range with cases starting from $399; it also has the same sophisticated locking system, and is made from a revolutionary ultra-light super strong material called Flowlite. The company also has another two essentials for all frequent travellers; a new range of RFID blocking leather wallets and passport covers, which feature an internal layer of metallic material blocking radio wave scanners from stealing credit card data or personal information. The passport cover is an elegant accessory also coming in a range of colours to suit your personal style, and it contains space for your passport and slots for any frequent flier, hotel loyalty cards or credit cards.
The Verdict:
This lovely suitcase is a must have for every stylish traveller who enjoys looks, luxury and added security, and my recommendation is to team it up with a RFID passport cover. We love both new products so much we're giving away a 69cm suitcase in off white, and a passport cover in sandstone to one lucky winner, with some other gorgeous goodies.
The Samsonite Lite-Locked 69cm suitcase is rrp $899, and the RFID Passport Cover is rrp $24.95, available from www.samsonite.com.au and all good retailers nationwide.
