Road Test
If you read this blog regularly you’ll be familiar with the Sassou Japan skin care brand, which I’ve written about before, and which cleverly merges traditional Japanese skincare practices and ingredients with cutting edge technological research. Two of the products I’ve tested recently include the Gold Beauty Cleansing Bar and Gold Shimmering Essence Toner, both of which contain real gold, and deliver great anti-ageing results. Another range of products within the Sassou brand is Hydra Pure, which is great for chronically dehydrated skins, as well as packing a mighty anti-ageing punch, and ideal for anyone living or travelling in a hot, humid climate - such as southeastern Queensland. There are four key products in the range including Hydra Pure Skin Cleansing Gel, Watery Hydra Skin Rejuvenator, Watery Hydra Nourishing Essence, and Hydra Pure Cera+ Aqua Cream. The Cleansing Gel is perfectly balance to remove makeup and excess oil from your skin, leaving it smooth and supple skin. It’s free of oil, alcohol, mineral oil, silicon, UV absorbers, artificial fragrance and colouring agents, and contains a lineup of ingredients which are purifying, mineral rich, moisturising and smoothing. To use, just apply a small amount to your face using dry fingers, massage for 30 seconds, then wash off with warm water.
The next step in your beauty regime using Hydra Pure is Watery Hydra Skin Rejuvenator, which contains multiple hydrating and soothing ingredients, and delivers a nutrient boost to the skin leaving it hydrated and rejuvenated. Key ingredients include jellyfish extract, witch hazel to reduce inflammation and lock in moisture, and arnica montana flower extract, and to use, just massage a small amount into your skin after cleansing, day and night. Hydra Pure Cera+ Aqua Cream is your next step; a rich, moisturising gel cream, the formula features hyaluronic acid and ceramides which deeply penetrate the skin to keep it hydrated all day. This lovely cream is suitable for sensitive and combination skin types, and quick to absorb. To use, just massage a small amount into the skin day and night for about five seconds; thanks to its unique gel-serum cream texture, water droplets packed with soothing ingredients will burst out onto the skin as you massage. The hero ingredient in the Hydra range is arguably Watery Hydra Nourishing Essence, which delivers a serious moisture boost thanks to an impressive ingredient lineup which includes jellyfish extract and hyaluronic acid. This step completes your daily skincare routine; simply apply to your face and neck and allow it to be thoroughly absorbed. This product is also a wonderful way to end a home facial, boosting the skin with hydration.
Beauty In Travel Loves

- They really give the skin a hydrating boost.
- Part of the range is a new multitasking eye mask which helps to ease dryness, wrinkles and a loss of firmness around the delicate eye area.
Insider Tips
- The cleanser is gentle enough to be used around the eye area for makeup removal.
- The cream can be applied as a quick, boosting mask - just apply a generous layer, leave on your skin for 5-10 minutes, wipe off the excess, and massage in what’s left. This is particularly effective if you have been travelling long haul.

Hydration v Dryness
Youd be surprised how many people confuse dehydration with dryness when it comes to the skin. Mine can be both as I live in TNQ! Using products which nourish and hydrate but don't leave your skin feeling sticky in the humidity is a challenge....this sounds interesting though and the Japanese have the right idea when it comes to preserving skin!
