Singapore’s Changi Airport is one of the busiest and most modern in the world and if you are travelling through, or departing from it in business class, you may find yourself using this award winning lounge.
- The Airline: Scoot.
- The Lounge: SATS Premier Lounge, Changi Airport, Singapore.
- Location: Terminal 2, Level 3.
- Other Airlines: The lounge is also open to a travellers with a variety of memberships and airlines including Priority Pass, SATS Affinity, Airport Angel and Lounge Club members, EVA Air and Turkish Airlines.
Overview
When Scoot launched into the Australian market back in 2012, Asia’s newest low cost carrier was clear about its target market. It’s a service for long haul travellers, aimed at the young, the young-at-heart, and bargain hunters alike. The result was a no-frills service on a fleet of brand new aircraft, and as a result the only airline lounge access it offers is in Singapore at the SATS Premier Lounge. There are a number of SATS Premier Lounges at Changi Airport, and I am told they are among the most heavily used facilities in Singapore. There’s one in all three terminals, with around 20+ carriers having a contract with them; in 2018 the Terminal 2 lounge was voted best in Asia by Priority Pass members. As a ScootPlus customer, you can add a Scoot-In-Style package to your booking which includes use of the lounge. It’s open 24-hours, which suits unsociable departure times, and after check-in at a dedicated ScootPlus desk, I headed off to find it and wait until my flight was called. The newly revamped lounge was spacious with a nice, bold decor and the main area lounge divided into different zones for working, relaxing, or sleeping.
Food & Drink
Reports have indicated that the lounge gets quite crowded at busy times and food options are limited, but as I was there late at night ahead of my flight I found it to be somewhat quiet - almost an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the terminal. Also, I’d already had dinner beforehand so I wasn’t planning to eat anything, so I didn’t get to try out its famous Laksa Station or anything else. From a brief inspection, however, the food and beverages on offer were standard fare, with a buffet including hot and cold choices, tea and coffee on demand, also wine and basic spirits.
Facilities
There is super fast Wi-Fi, and plenty of power points which accept Australian plugs should you need to charge your devices before you fly. And if you need to do any work, there are work benches featuring a desk and chair and up to four power points. There are also some Windows-based computer terminals if you didn’t BYO and need to check your email. The seating areas has a mix of long benches, circular tables, and chairs separated by timber dividers. There are also plenty of newspapers and magazines for you to flick through. Tucked away in one corner was a bank of massage chairs ideal and pre-reclined seats facing a wall and a TV if you really fancy kicking back, but I didn’t get to try them as they were all occupied. Although I didn’t use them or see them, as I ran out of time with my inspection, the lounge has five private shower rooms with amenities should you need to freshen up ahead of your flight, or in between flights.

Insider Tips
- One of the downsides of using a non-airline specific lounge is that they don’t make announcements for any flights; you have to be on your toes checking the TV screens regularly.
- Make use of the top notch Wi-Fi to watch YouTube or videos to wile away time before you fly.
