I can’t remember the first time I used a body exfoliant, but I do know they quickly became an addiction. It was probably way back in the day when I lived in London and was experimenting with fake tanners ahead of a holiday, having had more than one disaster with colour “clinging” to areas of the body where the skin is dry or a bit rough. Exfoliating solves that problem. But there is something truly wonderful about how your skin feels after its been pampered by a scrub, with softness, smoothness and a more youthful appearance being just three benefits. As I’ve discovered writing beauty over the years, however, not all exfoliants are equal. Some not only do a better job than others where smoothness is concerned, but using them is also a much more enjoyable experience. So when I was sent a pot of Musq’s new Face and Body Exfoliant I couldn’t wait to get into the shower and try it out.
Forget harsh scrubs, this is a very gentle mineral-based exfoliant which has been enriched with rose, rice and clay to leave your skin soft, smooth and glowing. When I first opened the pot, however, I thought the product had dried out; the particles are super fine, and a soft pink colour, and it was presented in a kind of cake format. As soon as I scooped some out, however, I quickly realised it didn’t feel much like a usual exfoliant. All you have to do is massage a little onto wet skin in circular motions and and your skin is quickly transformed. The formula foams up slightly and is incredibly easy to move over the surface of the skin, and it’s also easy to wash off leaving your skin really soft and ready for a rich moisturiser. I don’t use exfoliants on my face, and although I am always skeptical about products which claim to work successfully on both face and body I can see that this product would benefit both. And for travellers that means taking only one product with you to the job instead of two. You can use Musq’s exfoliant safely up to twice a week, avoiding any irritated or broken skin, and it will leave your skin looking and feeling great. And what’s not to love about that?
Musq Face & Body Exfoliant costs $42 and can be purchased from www.musq.com.au and various stockists.
